LINEN CURTAIN OBSESSION- INSPIRED LOOKS

Lauren Graham

In case you haven't noticed yet, our linen curtain obsession runs deep. Sheer linen, and linen curtains are an effortless curtaining option that instantly adds a healthy dose of laid back luxury that's bursting with character.

Whilst pure linen can be an expensive investment, there are also some fantastic linen-look curtaining fabric options available from collections such as Isles, Saxon, Simplicity and recent wide-width sheers release Shadows, giving you the perfect look without the hefty price tag. If you're in the market for new curtains, get inspired with these fabulous ideas:

1. "KNOT" YOUR AVERAGE CURTAIN

Whilst there's always a time and place for traditional curtain styles, we love this unusual knotted tie finish as a quirky design detail on these sheer linen curtains.

2. TWO-TONE PANELLING

Pairing two neutral toned linen-look fabrics can add a sophisticated, understated design detail. We love this idea for longer curtain drops, in particular rooms with higher ceilings will carry this look off effortlessly.

3. CAREFREE CONTRAST

Sometimes curtains can be more decorative than functional. In instances where window detail is an important design feature of the room, or light is priority, one can add a sheer curtain for the sake of contrast and warmth. We love this dark grey against the stark white walls and windows of this contemporary home. These curtains lack the volume needed to close off the outside world, but they do add a great modern design element to soften the windows.

4. SHEER ROMAN BLINDS

Don't resign yourself to sheer curtaining exclusively. Sheers can work well as a roman blind when made-up correctly in the right spot. This look is really growing on us at the moment - we hope to see more of it in 2017.

5. DELICATE DOORS

A clever way to add this linen drops into your home, even if a curtain is not required, is by using a textured linen-look plain to seal off storage space. This functional solution will block out any unsightly mess, but will instantly add an earthy luxury to the bedroom area. It's also an inexpensive alternative to built-in cupboards.

6. MIXED MATERIALS

We love the idea of mixing different natural materials to add earthy appeal and loads of texture to a look. These leather-tabbed linen curtains are the perfect pair, creating an edgy modern appeal.

7. DARK DRAMA

This grey on grey combination featuring a  thick linen drop that spills over onto the floor into a puddle makes for an ultra bold and luxurious look. We love how this simple combination adds so much instant drama and charm to a space.

8. SOFT, SHEER & SHIMMERING

How beautiful is this french-inspired bedroom? We love the soft, shimmering sheer that adds texture and lightness to the room. To get this look for yourself, take a look at the soft, shimmering sheers of collection Shadows.
