TERRACOTTA TRENDING - MAKE THE SEASONS'S HOTTEST COLOUR HAPPEN IN YOUR HOME

Lauren Graham

So it's been a while since our latest trend update, but it's that time again when we shine the spotlight on the colour du jour. Our early 2018 trend report mentioned that the biggest colour trends of 2018 are taking us back to nature with subdued hues in organic shades.

This time we're exploring the earthy hues of terracotta and welcoming this warm and inviting shade into our homes with some inspired stories. Take a look:

1. CALIFORNIA DREAMING

Taking our cue from the  terracotta walls and indigenous cacti of Montecito, this story had us California dreaming with earthy colour combinations and a sneaky cactus print from the new Terrace collection. Pairing the warmth of terracotta with tones of sage green is the perfect contrasting combination.

2. ETHNIC INSPIRED ACCENTS

Not ready to go all in with large pieces? Bring warmth into your space with prints in terracotta tones. Ethnic-inspired prints are an appropriate accent reference to bring this colour trend meaningfully into your interior. Teals provide a strong contrast, whilst prints that include more subtle grey hints will tie together beautifully with an existing neutral colour palette.

3. A CONTEMPORARY TAKE

A softer, more contemporary take on the use of terracotta that is inspired by the use of natural materials, paired with contemporary black accents. A subtle, sophisticated way to bring terracotta into your interiors.

4. TAKE IT TO THE TROPICS

You can take terrocotta right into tropical territory by pairing with strong botanicals and vibrant greens to mimic the lush leaves of the rainforest.
