6 ALTERNATIVE SPRING FLOWER IDEAS

Lauren Graham

We love the start of Spring, and nothing quite says Spring like fresh cut flowers around the home. However, indoor flower pots and vased bouquets aren't the only way to bring spring flowers into your decor plans. Here are 6 alternative ideas we love:

1. A BRIGHT BOWL OF FLOWERING CACTI

We love this bright ceramic bowl of little flowering cactus plants. It packs a punch of colour and is the perfect low-maintenance solution for those who don't have green fingers. It's also super cost-effective as far as flowers go - the cacti will last forever with very little TLC required!

2. PAINTED MASON JAR ARRANGEMENTS

Add an extra pop of colour to a room by painting the inside of a mason jar and using it as a colourful, modern base to a pretty spring posy. Mason jars are cheap, easy-to-find and add some vintage charm and a pop of colour to your arrangement. We love this this fresh aqua version...

3. FABULOUS FABRIC POT BAGS

Succulents and aloes are bang on trend and add a fresh green pop to a room, without wilting or requiring much attention. If you want to add colour and pattern to a basic pot, we love the idea of these folder over pot bags. You can mix and match fab colours, textures and patterns to bring some spring flare to any room.

4. SPRING BULBS WITH A TWIST

As the weather warms up we're all about outdoor entertaining. These dainty "spring bulbs" are a cute and quirky alternative to a table bouquet. Hang them on balcony walls or in the trees - just watch out for the wind - the bulbs are quite delicate!

5. VASE PLANTS

Some bulbs and succulents can be planted directly in the vase with a little water - no soil needed!  We particularly like these bright bulbs in long, cylinder vases. A modern twist on a traditional spring favourite - the tulip!

6. WINDOWSILL SUCCULENTS

If you don't have kitchen countertop space to spare, windowsills are the perfect place for a pop of spring. Lining up green succulents in coloured ceramic pots is a stylish alternative to a vase of flowers!
